] So, I'm a sucker when it comes to slacking off. But, because it's NaNoWriMo (camp nano), I've pledged to get 40,000 words written down by the end of the month.
Because that's such a huge amount of words to write in such a short time, I needed to get myself into gear and get some writing done! This can be hard, especially with families, friends, lives, video games, Facebook. BUT, it can be easy to eliminate these distractions. Some of the following tips are just for when you fancy writing, and some others are guidelines you can follow and adapt to your everyday life.
- To stop getting distracted by social media, or webpages in general, you should disable the internet. It's hard, I know, but just letting yourself get lost in the world of writi…
Here on this Wiki, we have heaps of writing! Naturally, writing can get long, and therefore a reader may experience long loading times from a cellphone or low-quality PC, and those with poor internet connection or bad bandwidth may not even be able to read everything. Therefore, I've lovingly created a template for these long pages! I like to call it the 'contents' template because it lists all contents. Here's how to make use of these templates!
Making the template it very, very easy. All you need to do is go to this page, or this page, and take the code (if you press this sentence, it will take you to the edit page of CAD contents so you can easily copy the code). Once you've copied the code, paste it to a word document or simply don't co…

I've been getting some of work edited by the ever-lovely Skye, from the YWC Wiki, but in the event that she wouldn't be able to take more editing work (I know she's very busy as of late), would anyone here be interested in some editing work for a novelette?
The mass of work is up to whoever edits it, and a chapter is usually 2 500 words - you could pick up a chapter or two if you want.
Though you wouldn't get paid, I'd stick your name/pseudonym in the acknowledgements page and if you have a novel you want published, I'll write up an excerpt in the back and promote you (by promote I mean sending my publisher a good word). :P
Just drop a comment if you're interested!Read more >
This is a common argument that I see on 4chan, Facebook, 99designs and other places. I'm a graphics designer by primary trade, and an author second, so it would be against my own logic to not seperate facts from fiction.
This is a compositions wiki, and has a whole heap of digital art, so I thought I should make this little blog with a few comparisons if people were looking at buying Photoshop, but have heard of the free alternative.
- The way Photoshop CS6 looks (you can check out my screenshot of what it looks like on a netbook here) is generally a good selling point. It looks neat, has an overall easy-to-nagivate design and has an excellent UI. However, if you're buying it because of looks, you could easily download the shell for GIMP that …
Not exactly composition related so ADMINS: FEEL FREE TO DELETE THIS. However, I thought it would be good for me to make a "publish" blog, because a lot of people on here do, in fact, have more talent than I, and would certainly get published.
When you first try to get published, you might think there's only one type of publisher and that would probably be the one that you send a letter to, they reject you, and three years later you re-submit a letter and get accepted. That's not true, at all. In fact, there are three main types of publishers, and here they are!
- Publishing houses/agents: These are the big guys! They'll take away your rights, tell you what you can and can't do, then force you to write a set amount for them. They're very picky …
Just askin', who's your favourite singer or musician (you can also say both :3). Anyone who knows me personally (or has had a music assignment with me lol) knows I really like Ed Sheeran. When I saw his performance at the Air Canada centre was on a school night I started banging my head on my laptop screen (don't worry, my screen's okay).
He writes pretty much all of his own songs, and he can actually play his own instruments. He has a good sense of humor and can write smoothly. Despite the fact that on my profile it says Kiss Me is my favourite song (lol don't kill me I'm just lazy) I like One Night (Loose Change EP) and Cold Coffee (Songs I Wrote With Amy EP).
I got into listening to Ed because The A Team ALMOST won a Grammy I think 2 year…Read more >
I'm sorry I don't seem as active as some of the other admins right now! Since the activity on the wiki for the last 2 days has slowed down to a dull pause, I was doing other stuff (like writing and downloading angsty music). I just got on to do some more editing. (bow down to your leader hahah jk jk)
This is one of the songs I downloaded.
This is another one.
The funny thing is, I found them both in AMVs!
LOL but the point is is that I'm going to be activer starting now :)Read more >
From April 8th to 11th, I'll be gone on a school camping trip, and there'll be no wifi there, not to mention that electronic devices are also not allowed. :/
So yeah, sorry if I'm not here for a few days!Read more >
I'm really nervous for my RCM Grade 3 exam on Tuesday. And to top it off, I have a Kiwanis Contest performance in 2 weeks!
I've been practicing excessively, and my fingers are starting to hurt!
I also have some immature fears, like what if I fart in the middle of a song or something :3Read more >
OCs, original character, is my strength! I can make awesome OCs (not bragging) but they always have to come from somewhere...
Actually, Helena is my Hetalia OC (I don't use her for Hetalia fanfics though...) as the state of Berlin. For more detail on this, read this blog post.
And then I have my Ouran OC Akihiko (his alt. name Andre is used in Goodbye, Friend Pt. 1 and Goodbye, Friend Pt. 2). I actually hint to an AkiBer relationship in a few of my compostions.
If you're asking, "Why do you ship 2 OCs from totally different anime together?" the answer is that my mind is a big crack pot. I feel like they go together and I forget that I'm shipping an OC from Hetalia and an OC from Ouran together...
Comment some of your OCs! They don't have to …Read more >

The first anime I watched (knowing it was anime) was Naruto. It led me to be an otaku, and made me come to the dark side. Yes, there were cookies.
Now that I look back on it, Naruto wasn't that great of anime, but it still holds a special place in my heart because it was the first one I watched. :)
I think that the first anime you watch (and enjoy) is the one that leads you to the type of anime you like. For example, I watched Naruto, a shounen anime, so I rather like shounen. I also like mindfuck anime, but that's not the point. I typically don't watch high school anime, because I simply don't understand them. Don't get me wrong, I don't HATE high school anime, I just didn't watch many. Clannad and Ouran was great, but those are the only two…Read more >

It Hurts, one of my stories, actually has Ouran and Hetalia references.
If you check the newspaper excerpt at the end of the story, it says Akihiko SUOH. Also, it is hinted that he is Kotoko's brother, and that their father was the CHAIRMAN of the school they were going to. Although Helena moved to America, that doesn't mean I have to take away Tamaki. It is also mentioned their father had "blond hair and violet eyes". Yep, Tamaki for you.
Second, (again with the newspaper excerpt) it says Helena BEILSCHMIDT, and her mother was an Elizaveta. Elizaveta IS Hungary, and her father Gilbert Beilschmidt IS ze awesome Prussia. Yes, I ship PruHun. Deal with it. Also, I'm afraid I made Prussia a little (too much) OOC in It Scars, but maybe not. Maybe…Read more >

Anime OST's can make someone fall asleep, feel miserable about themslves, get them excited, make them stop procastinating, or make you wince at how loud/quiet the music is. The OP and ED songs are also important, at least in my opinion. For example, the Death Note soundtrack is awesome to listen to if you want to feel amazing while doing homework.
I'd like to know other people's opinion on OST's of any anime.

Just a quick little thing. This website only went up 15 minutes ago, and I am going to start contributing my own compositions (I cannot write sheet music so it will be by ear). I am going to have my little friend MujnaD mosey over and during this march break we will be WORKING our BUTTS off, right? We are going to be figuring out title plates, more pages, she'll contribute some work (get workin' on it!), and we want some little workers all up in here. Okay?
